Beers in Bars helps you find people you have met out, keep track of who you met, and post to the Wall. This page explains exactly what we keep about you, why we keep it, and the choices you have. We sell nothing and we share your data with no one.
What we collect
- Your email address — this is how you log in and how we reach you.
- Your profile — your display name, handle, and any other profile fields you choose to fill in.
- Your encounters — who you met. When you record meeting someone, we store that connection between your account and theirs.
- Your Wall posts — anything you post to the Wall, along with who posted it and when.
Why we collect it
We collect this to run the thing you signed up for: to log you in, to show you the people you have met, to let others find you, and to carry your posts on the Wall. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not track you across other sites.
We do not share your data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. There are no ad networks, no data brokers, and no analytics companies receiving your information. What you put into Beers in Bars stays in Beers in Bars.
How you sign in
Sign-in is passwordless. We email you a one-time magic link; clicking it logs you in. There is no password for you to set, reuse, or have stolen, and we never store one. We keep a normal login session (a cookie in your browser) so you stay signed in between visits.
Cookies and your session
We use a session cookie so the site knows you are logged in as you move between pages. It is functional, not advertising — we do not use cookies to track you or to target ads. Clearing it simply signs you out.
Getting a copy of your data
You can download everything we hold about you at any time as a single structured file. Download my data
Deleting your data
You have the right to be forgotten. On request we will erase your account and the personal data tied to it — your profile, your encounters, and your Wall posts. Ask us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active so the service works. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data rather than holding on to it.
